This week in PE, students learned the game of four square. Our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders wrapped up the unit by participating in an exciting two-day Four Square Tournament. Students put the skills they’ve been practicing all week to the test as they competed for the championship. We are so proud of their sportsmanship and competitive spirit!

Our Book Blast event starts this week. We will set out on a mission to build our students' home libraries. Treasure Maps and instructions will come home tomorrow.
Our Data Day will take place this Friday. This is a time when we invite our parents, guardians, and loved ones to join us as your student shares their progress this school year. Students have worked so hard and made great progress, and they want to show off what they've learned. 3rd - 8:15; 2nd - 9:20, Kindergarten - 10:00, 1st - 10:40, and 4th - 11:00.

This week is Bus Driver Appreciation Week. If you have a child who rides the bus, please take a moment to thank your driver for the wonderful job they do each day, getting your students to and from school.

Our PTO will host its annual Family Dance this Thursday, from 6:00 to 7:30 in the gymnasium. Entry is free; donations of candy or candy-filled eggs are greatly appreciated. Carnations and refreshments will be available for purchase by cash or check.
This Friday is a Teacher Workday. There will be no school for students.
Lunch Snack Reminder for Families: We are noticing that some students purchase multiple snack items, such as ice cream, and then do not eat their full lunch. At this time, teachers and cafeteria staff are not permitted to limit or refuse snack purchases for students during lunch. If you would like to place limits on your child’s snack purchases, please send a written note to the cafeteria so they are aware of your preference. Snack sales do help support our cafeteria, and we appreciate your partnership in helping students make healthy choices during the school day.

🥪 When & Where:
• Snacks will be available as students enter the gym for dismissal
• This applies to both car riders and bus riders
🎒 What Students Will Do:
Students will be instructed to place their snack in their backpack before leaving the gym.
💙 Why This Matters:
This program is designed to support our students—especially those who may experience food insecurity—and help ensure everyone has the nourishment they need at the end of the school day.
Thank you for your continued support as we work to care for the whole child!

Bus 30 has an afternoon driver.
Students have all returned to class and a normal schedule has resumed. Please don't hesitate to contact us with questions or concerns.
All students are currently safe at Iotla Valley elementary. The evacuation was due to concerns with smoke in a work room. The gym has been cleared for students to return. Again, everyone is safe. Thank you for your patience and concern.
Our students had a great day learning more about how we stop the spread of germs through handwashing. Thank you to the Macon County Health Department for supporting our students.
Bus 21 and 30 will not run tomorrow morning. Currently bus 21 will run tomorrow afternoon and the rest of the week. Bus 30's schedule is uncertain. We will notify you as soon as possible.
