Our kids have had many great opportunities, and learned so much during Black History Month. Onesia Cleveland visited our 3rd and 4th grade students. She came dressed as Sojourner Truth, and performed Truth's "Ain't I a Woman". Students also had the opportunity to learn traditional African dances from guests Sarah Shepherd and Gabby Wang. In art students have learned about Nick Cave's work. They created Soundsuit Dancers and tribal masks. Music class gave students an opportunity to learn about and listen to many African American musicians.

The third and fourth grade classes have had a chance to work on coding the past few weeks. During library classes they have been using the Sphero robots working through coding lessons.

We are delighted to have all the parents, guardians, and grandparents attending data day tomorrow to support the work your student(s) have accomplished this year. This is a gentle reminder that our teachers have planned a wonderful day of instruction, and we ask that your student(s) remain in school for the remainder of the day after the morning visit to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Grade classes. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

We have kicked off our Book Blast Fundraiser! We held a drawing today for an iPad. Here is our lucky winner!

Our PTO is planning a great event during the evening of December 12th. There is a family gingerbread house contest. You must use a pre-purchased kit. There are some great prizes! We hope your family will join in!
